MCKINNEY ROTARY CLUB AWARDS DIRECTION61:3 $100,000 MATCHING GIFT TO KICK OFF CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Launch a Legacy Capital Campaign will Fund a Community of Homes in North McKinney for Youth Aging Out of Foster Care

(McKinney, Texas, March 2024) – The McKinney Noon Rotary Club Foundation has chosen Direction61:3 as the recipient of a generous $100,000 Matching Gift for the foster youth agency’s Launch a Legacy Capital Campaign. This Matching Gift is provided as a lead gift for the capital campaign to build a new community of homes that will serve up to 60 foster youth aging out of care.  The housing community will be built on the ministry’s current 4.8 acre main campus at 3286 County Road 168, McKinney, TX 75071.

The Launch a Legacy Capital Campaign’s goal is to raise $ 8.47 M to provide foster homes for teens between the ages of 14 and 17.  Transitional living homes will be constructed for older youth as they turn 18, age out of foster care and need to transition into a more independent living environment. Other campus amenities will be a community event center for youth gatherings/community events/public coffee shop, as well as a maintenance garage for the Direction61:3 Kingdom Cars program.

Tammy Mahan, McKinney Rotary Major Gifts Committee Chair shared, “I am incredibly proud of the impact our Rotary Club will have on the youth of our community by supporting such a worthy non-profit with proceeds from our annual Flag lease program.”

Brian Loughmiller, former Mayor of McKinney and his wife Donna are the co-chair for the capital campaign. Brian shared, “Donna and I are proud to chair the Direction 61:3 “Launch a Legacy” Capital Campaign to raise funds to build a community for youth aging out of the foster care system. We strongly believe that these youth deserve our collective support as they transition into independent young adults.
